At the October meeting, we discussed community initiatives and committees, asked for volunteers, and heard from a number of candidates in the upcoming election.

Jeanette called meeting to order, introduced officers, and invited new attendees/neighborhood residents to identify themselves.

Business Meeting:

  • Carolynn Kevlin updated action on organizing Harris County Constable Patrol. Organizing meeting to be held on October 27, 6:30pm, at Cafe Ginger
  • David Hoyer announced that a tax meeting was going to be held at the Harris County Commissioners Court Meeting on Oct 13, 10am at 1001 Preston. He encouraged residents to attend.
  • There was a call for volunteers to staff various committees that make the neighborhood association work, including the monthly coffees and the holiday party. If you’re interested, please message Jeanette or any of the officers directly to learn more.
  • The next coffee is at 1617 McDuffie, Oct 20, 10 am.
  • The treasurer reported we spent more than came in through dues this month. Please remember to pay your dues via check or online through the PayPal link on the website. (www.vccahouston.org)
