What does a VCCA membership do for you?

Communication: Monthly newsletters inform our residents of the latest news, happenings, and events in the neighborhood The Nextdoor.com online community connects neighbors daily with pertinent information and ad- vice. The VCCA website provides access to information resources and allows VCCA Block captains to connect with neighbors and share local information.

Social Activities: Join your neighbors for monthly coffees, annual National Night Out Party, Holiday Party, spring picnic, monthly meetings, and more.

Education: We host great speakers focusing on topics ranging from history and the arts to outdoor activities, lo- cal government, and more.

Safety: We organized and continue to support Citizen Patrol. We receive regular visits from the Houston Police department at meetings. We also have a graffiti removal teaming the neighborhood.

Animal Welfare: The Neighbor- hood Trap/ Neuter/ Release pro- gram protects and assists stray and homeless cats in Vermont Commons neighborhood. Post on Nextdoor,com help residents find
lost pets and facilitate pet adoptions.

Neighborhood Enhancement: Our Yard of the Month award acknowledges neighborhood enhancement efforts and encourages residents to beautify their property. The VCCA monitors new construction for adherence to deed building restrictions.

Liaison with public officials: We work with the city and other organizations to address our neighborhood concerns and learn more about services available to the community.
