This month’s meeting on January 11, 2016 at Cafe Ginger, was devoted to the VC Security Foundation.

Meeting was run by the Vermont Commons (VC) Security Foundation.  Adrianna B. introduced the VCSF Board.

The evening meeting was well attended. Park Civic combined with VCCA for the security foundation. It is one organization.

Legal fees donated. Most of expenses 2.7% of budget have been with signs. $96,000 in treasury. $76,000 needed for 1st contract. Excess funds will be left to Board to decide what to do with it. Residents who have signed up: ~220.

 

Highlights:

  • Constables serve 20 patrol contracts in Houston.
  • Work closely with HPD.
  • Mandell Place/Winlow/Cheryhurst combine their contracts for extended coverage.
  • Vacation watch sign up available. Website sign up available.
  • Suspicious person calls are followed up.
  • Can do in home security inspections. Website sign up available.
  • Emergency calls go to 911.
  • Alarm calls go to Constable Patrol.
  • Contract Security alarm calls can go to Constable Patrol. There are no alarm fees for several calls. HPD will charge for alarm calls. Resident has to give theIr security company the Constable phone number so the Constable can be first responders.
  • A security coordinator will be assigned. Crime alerts will be sent to you. All deputies have gps and cameras on cars. Patrol cars may not be seen by all the residents, but officers are tracked to make sure they are doing their patrol.
  • Number of deputies dependent on how much money available, or how many deputies needed.

Boundaries: Peden to Westhiemer, Huldy(both sides of the street) to west side of. Dunlavy. No homes on Shepherd.
